1. One example is the case of FELDA. All the while, an NGO called ANAK ('Anak Peneroka' or Children of the Settlers) has been taking charge of the injustices against the FELDA citizens.
2. ANAK is not aligned with UMNO, and in fact is poised to act against UMNO since the injustices in FELDA are mostly perpetrated by UMNO, and its agents.
3. Now a new NGO 'BAPAK', which stands for 'Biro Aduan Peneroka FELDA Kebangsaan' (National FELDA Settlers Complant Bureau) is being launched.
4. The new NGO is an initiative of the UMNO Information Chief, Ahmad Maslan, who envisages it as the successor to ANAK, and wishes the latter would just die away as it lets BAPAK take over.
5. It is no more than wishful thinking.
6. Now that the new NGO has become affiliated to UMNO, how can it be effective; can UMNO really speak against itself?
7. While we shall see some impressive moves to 'tackle', if any, albeit showcased, the woes of the FELDA settlers, an artificial organisation will not have the stamina to endure the test. All indications are that BAPAK will cease to exist before long.
8. Besides promoting the moderates, silencing the 'extremists' is also of paramount importance to Najib.
9. The mainsteram media have been relentless on their attack against the so-called extremists. Just as Al-Qaeda represents the face of terrorism to George Bush the Devil, it is the opposition, and their sympathisers, who are extremists to Najib.
10. ANAK is thus an extremist organisation bebecause it speaks aginst UMNO - and should be banished; BAPAK is the moderate counterpart because it is harmless to Najib and his agenda - and should be nurtured.
11. Next come anothe group of extremists - the bloggers.
12. All of these extremists must be silenced. By force, if needs be.
