When the goin' gets tough, the toughs get goin'

I qoute a piece from the Malaysian Insider, 17 Nov 2009:

Malaysia seen as more corrupt than ever

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 - Malaysia is now seen to be more corrupt than ever, anti-graft watchdog Transparency International said in its global corruption perception index 2009 launched today.

Malaysia now ranks 56 out of 180 countries in the world with a corruption index score of 4.5 out of 10, with 10 being the least corrupt, said the world corruption watchdog. Last year, it placed 47 with a CPI score of 5.1.

The three least corrupt countries in the world are, in order, New Zealand, Denmark and Singapore.

1.  Malaysia is in the midst of ambitious programs.
2.  2020 is a target said to be on sight.
3.  One of the aims of Budget 2010 just announced by PM Najib is said to make Malaysians rich in the coming years.
4.  'We cannot be satisfied being in the middle income class.'  Najib said.
5.  The highest income tax rate has been reduced, and to an incredible 15% for knowledge workers in Iskandar Malaysia.
6.  That incentive should be very attractive.
7.  Then the news just broke out that Malaysia is one of the most corrupt of nations.  In fact, we are more corrupt than ever.
8.  [Incidentally, this coming in the midst of some noisy activities by the MACC, 'the guardian' of good governance.]
9.  The question then:  Who will Malaysia be attracting?
10. Certainly any decent men will try to avoid Malaysia.
11. While our nation turns off some, it will surely turn on others.
12. The unscrupulous investors will flock to our CBDs. -
13. To be part of the action ...
